- Advertised: Green Mountain Farmer, on 13 Nov 1809, in Bennington VT. Announcing that he had taken the shop lately occupied by Horatio Clark in Bennington where he intended to carry on the above business in all its various branches. He noted that he did plated work of all kinds, in the best manner and on short notice. He offered cash for old gold, silver, copper, pewter, lead and brass. 16
- Advertised: Green Mountain Farmer, on 27 Oct 1815, in Bennington VT. He had moved to the red shop, two doors south of the Meeting House, where he continued to do all kinds of work in the watch and clockmaking, silversmith and jewelry business. 16
- Advertised: Vermont Gazette, on 15 May 1818, in Bennington VT. He had moved to a room in the New Mechanic's Building, a few rods south of the Meeting House and that he was collecting his debts. 16
- Carlisle. Nathaniel Dexter died when he was 47 years old on September 11, 1832. He is buried in the Old Bennington cemetery. One week later, on the 17th, Samuel P. Phelps advertised in the Vermont Gazette that he had taken the shop recently occupied by Dexter and would continue the watchmaking, silversmith and jewelry business on that location. 16
