  Eliel Gilbert Lathrop, formerly of Becker & Lathrop jewelers, died Monday afternoon at his home, 1104 East Genessee Street. Mr Lathrop was 86 years old. Death followed a few days illness with pneumonia.
  
  Born at Greenfield, Mass, January 25, 1835, Mr. Lathrop came to this city in 1850. At 15 years of age he entered the employ of David Becker and later became Mr. Becker's partner. The store was at 124 South Salina Street."
