William P. Ballou, Retired, of DeKalb, Ill., Commits Suicide Because of Declining Years
After taking a bath and donning clean garments, William P. Ballou, 86 years old, a retired jeweler of DeKalb, Ill., committed suicide Sunday night in the home of his son, James D. Ballou, 5902 South Michigan avenue, by placing a towel saturated with chloroform over his mouth and nose. He had said that he was tired of living on account of his advanced years.
