• Apprenticed: John Taylor, in 1815, in Newark NJ. The general stagnation of the jewelery trade forced him to conclude his term several years early. He returned to Longmeadow and worked at a variety of trades before becoming a dentist in 1821. He later went on to Harvard Medical School, graduating in 1827.
