- His obituary was published in the Highland Democrat on 21 Mar 1896. Constant W. Wadsworth was born in New Lebanon, Columbia county, this state, in 1834, and had been a resident of Peekskill for nearly thirty years. No business man in Peekskill was better known all through this section of Westchester and the southern portions of Putnam county. His business was extensive selling in jewelry, watches, etc, and he began business at the old stand of Henry Woostsr on Main street, which he bought out. From this point he removed to the Knapp building on the corner of South and Division streets, and a few years later purchased the Marshall property on the east side of North Division street and tearing down the building, erected the handsome store that he has since occupied as a jewelry store, with piano, organ, sewing machine and bicycle agencies.
